4 Family Friendly Things to Do in Downtown Pensacola- Pensacola, FL Family Photographer
Looking for some family friendly things to do in Downtown Pensacola? Look no further! As you may know, I am the mom to seven wonderful children. Even though having seven kiddos (all under the age of nine years old might I add) is the biggest blessing, there are shockingly moments of pure chaos. Because of how crazy it is to take multiple young children out in public, it has to be something pretty spectacular to give me the desire to load everyone and double strollers up.
So here is a list of 4 family friendly things to do in Downtown Pensacola that are so good, it makes this momma brave the outside world with multiple kiddos in tow.
Every Saturday from 9am to 2pm is the Palafox Market. The Palafox Market is broken up into two sections: Palafox Market North and Palafox Market South. Both sections are full of local vendors selling anything and everything. Locally grown produce, fresh baked bread, designer cookies, build your own flower bouquets, and custom jewelry are just some of amazingly unique items that are being sold.
2. Coral’s Closet
Coral’s Closet is a new storefront in Downtown Pensacola and it is simply the cutest shoppe and play space EVER. The play area is packed full of costumes and toys that encourage creative play (there is even a rock wall)!
In addition, Coral’s Closet offers a toy shop full of quality toys that are meant to get children’s imagination wheels spinning and focus on children embracing their childhood.
Be sure to also check out their monthly calendar where they partner with other local businesses to provide classes for elementary aged children and even some classes for moms too!
3. A Blue Wahoo’s Baseball Game
Though only available during baseball season, watching the Blue Wahoo’s play at Maritime Park is fun for the entire family. It is just hard to beat watching America’s favorite pastime while having the entire family munch on some concession stand nachos. During most games the children are asked to line up behind the home team dugout and they get to chase a giant cockroach (no worries, it’s just a cockroach costume) across the field- every child’s dream lol.
If you are lucky enough, there may even be a fireworks show after the game!
4.Bayview Park
Ok, so Bayview Park isn’t technically in Downtown Pensacola, but it is pretty darn close. Bayview Park is one of our favorites in Pensacola. Besides the typical playground for the kids, Bayview also offers tennis courts, a walking track, a dock, and a dog park! There are numerous pavilions and each of them have picnic tables and also sports a grill. The best part about this park is that it overlooks the bayou.
So a park with childrens equipment, picnic tables, and a great view. Could you ask for more?
